Do you have the knack for being creative and want to take on the challenge of transforming a basic webpage into an interactive, visually appealing digital hub for our organisation?

You have a keen eye for graphics, colours, and an artsy take on visuals, perhaps even a previous understanding of website designing, and a passion for creating content. You're ready to level up your skills in web design, content management, SEO, and multimedia editing.

We provide an established website on Wix, our comprehensive brand manual, access to premium web design tools, an introduction to using the tools, and a bucket of vision and ambition. You get the artistic freedom to make this your legacy.

The VALE Website Intern is responsible for redesigning and managing our website, creating new video, text, and photo content to ensure it remains a dynamic and engaging platform. This website is our digital gateway to the world and our community.
​
You will be working in close collaboration with The VALE Team, representing The VALE organisation, to express our values, highlight current topics, and showcase the projects we are lining up. These include The VALE Course 2025, various online courses, workshops in multiple countries, and future events.

We're hoping to offer a great experience to a special person who can help us make our website a persistent and engaging digital space. You’ll contribute to a good cause, and work with a youthful, innovative team that leaves you extensive room for creative freedom. We're not looking for perfection; we're looking for passion, creativity, and a willingness to learn.
Intern Tasks
You are on board for a remote internship starting in JUL/AUG 2024, lasting between 5 to 10 months, with the exact duration negotiable based on your availability and wishes. The role is flexible and ideal for remote work. The most important upcoming project is "The VALE Course 2025" in Estonia and France in early 2025, where you are invited to join the team on-site for at least one module for content creation opportunities.

You will:

Redesign and manage our website on Wix, ensuring it is user-friendly, visually appealing, and aligned with our brand identity

Manage and enhance our PAX Portal – a secure, members-only learning platform for participants and alumni
-
Develop and improve the website's functionality, including access to online learning materials, alumni membership areas, blogging, and potentially an online store

Edit photo and video content for the website and marketing materials

Implement SEO strategies to increase our online visibility

Create and update web pages with current and engaging content in collaboration with The VALE Team

Monitor and report on website performance and user engagement

Ensure a proper handover to a future website manager
Workload:
-
On average, expect to work 1-2 hours per week in the fall period and up to 5 hours per week (incl. meetings) as we get closer to The VALE Course 2025. The workload may vary across the year, with lots of flexibility to schedule your work according to your availability and personal commitments.

Some previous experience with web design

You know your way around web design platforms (CMS) such as Wix

Know-how in photo and video editing

Potential familiarity or interest to learn about SEO practices

Ability to plan, direct, and work independently by taking ownership over key tasks

Able to participate in online team calls and meet deadlines
-
Proficient in English as a working language, both oral and in writing
