The Venue: Hallingdal Leirsted

Hallingdal.jpg

Hallingdal campsite is a charming large mountain lodge located in the heart of Kvinnegardslia, 10 km from the center of Ål in Hallingdal.

The lodge is located at approximately 800 meters above sea level, just below a large plain that stretches between Vats, Bergsjø, Myrland, and Hol. A popular area for trips in both summer and winter, the area offers opportunities for hiking and skiing with scenic views of both Hallingskarvet and Reineskarvet.

At the lodge, there are several areas for hanging out. The high ceilings make the premises bright and pleasant.  In its interior you can sense Norwegian mountain living vibes. It's actually very charming!

The rooms are set for 3-4 people, but at The VALE we will assign two people per room.

Location in Norway

Since our main venue is located in a remote area in the middle of Norway, there is little to no public transportation to the venue.

We have arranged for a charter bus. Any travel outside of those is logistically challenging and could prove expensive.

Packing List

"When climbing a mountain, pack a light heart." - Dan May

Sweater

Comfy indoor clothes

It’s hard to look good when learning, so bring comfy clothes. Indoor slippers or wool socks are a winner's choice!

Team Meeting

One set of smart casual

For the Symposium on Friday 13 OCT, the dress code is smart casual.

Rain Cloud

Outdoor shoes & jacket

We'll spend time walking outside, and October weather is unpredictable - so prepare for wind, rain and / or cold. We will be taking an outside excursion into the forests, so please bring shoes and pants that can get muddy, and a jacket that warms you up. Avoid white, if possible. We also really recommend hats, scarves and gloves.

Silk Pillow Cases

Bed sheet and a towel

Our venue has pillows and duvets, but you should bring bed linen and a towel for yourself. If you cannot, please let the team know.

Passport Covers

ID and insurance

We cannot stress this enough: please travel with a valid travel document! And check your travel insurance.

Green Yarn Ball

The items from prep tasks

Please bring the four items: envelope, schedule, poster, and lifeline from prep tasks no. 1, 2, 9,and 10. You can read about these on the "Before" page.
